Setting your workspace slug and portal address
Updated 2026-09-09
Your slug is the short, unique name that identifies your company in EspressoDesk. It becomes the address of your customer portal.
You choose it during workspace setup, and the form checks availability while you type. Use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens only, for example acme-support.
The portal is then reachable at /p/your-slug. Share that link in your email signature, your website footer or your help center. Customers open it to see their tickets and read your published articles.
Changing a slug changes the portal link, so update anywhere you published it.
Step by step
- Open Settings -> Workspace.
- Set the slug: short, lowercase, words separated by hyphens, ideally your company name.
- Save and open the portal address to see what your customers will see.
- Put that link in your website footer, in your auto-reply and in your e-mail signature.
Good to know
- Choose the slug carefully at the start. Changing it later breaks every link you already shared.
- The slug identifies your workspace, so two companies never see each other's tickets or articles.
- If you prefer your own web address, you can connect a custom domain and use it instead of the standard portal address.
- The slug is not a password: anyone with the link can reach the portal, but they still have to identify themselves to see their tickets.
