Connecting the Telegram channel

Telegram support runs on your own bot, so you keep full control of the account.

1. Create the bot

1. Open Telegram and start a chat with @BotFather.
2. Send /newbot, choose a display name and a username ending in bot.
3. BotFather returns a token that looks like 123456789:AAH.... Copy it.

2. Connect it in EspressoDesk

1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Telegram.
2. Paste the bot token and click Connect bot.
3. We verify the token and register the webhook automatically — nothing else to configure.

3. Use it

• Every message your customers send to the bot opens a ticket (or continues the open one from the last 7 days).
• Agent replies in the ticket are delivered straight back to the Telegram chat.
• Share your bot link (https://t.me/yourbot) on your website or in your signature.

The Telegram channel is a $9/month add-on on Starter and Pro, and is included in Scale.

Troubleshooting

• That does not look like a BotFather token — copy the whole string including the digits before the colon.
• If you regenerate the token in BotFather, disconnect and reconnect the bot here.
