Customizing the widget colours and welcome message

Updated 2026-09-09

In Settings -> Live chat you control how the widget looks without touching code. You can set the main widget colour, the header text colour, the background, the agent and visitor bubble colours and the input text colour, and you see a live preview beside the form.

The welcome message is the first thing a visitor reads when they open the chat. Keep it specific: say who answers and how quickly, for example "Hi! The support team is here Monday to Friday, 9 to 17 CET."

The widget shows its interface in English or Spanish depending on the visitor's browser language, and your colours apply to both.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings -> Live chat.
  2. Pick your colours; the preview beside the form updates as you type.
  3. Write the welcome message and, if you use both languages, check that the wording works for English and Spanish visitors.
  4. Save and reload the page where the widget is installed to see the result in context.

Good to know

  • Use your brand colour for the launcher and keep enough contrast between the bubble background and the text, otherwise messages become hard to read on small screens.
  • The widget is responsive: on a phone it opens as a full-height panel, so avoid very long welcome messages.
  • Colours and the welcome message are per workspace, so every website where you paste the snippet shows the same styling.
  • Nothing here requires code. If you also want a different position or a delayed opening, that is handled by the installation snippet, not by these settings.
